High productivity

  • The growing of the hourly productivity of labour in the whole state of Germany was 27 % in the last 10 years. In Görlitz there was a growing of more than 50 % in the same time period (hourly productivity of labour means GDP per working hour of the working population).

Low labour cost

  • The labor costs of regional enterprises, which are currently at 25 percent, remain significantly lower than the average labor costs in the Federal Republic of Germany.
  • This is due to, for example, the longer working hours within flexible labor time systems that have been negotiated with the unions.

Superb Support

  • Görlitz is an EU Objective 1 priority support region. In Görlitz, investment projects can be subsidized with up to 30 percent of the eligible costs. The subsidies are composed of investment grants, non-repayable allowances, and interest rate relief.
  • Enterprises will be supported in the creation of additional jobs by the Employment Agency and the European Social Fund.

Properties and Areas

  • Industrial and commercial areas are currently available to manufacturing companies starting at Euro 2.88 per sqm.
  • There are many attractive properties for offices, business and production.

Directly connected to the Eastern European market

  • A superbly developed expressway and rail network connects the Euro City directly with such metropolitan regions as Berlin, Frankfurt on the Main, Dresden, Wroclaw, Prague, Katowice and Krakow. Since five international airports are located within a radius of 200 km, the Euroregion also provides excellent air connections. Dresden Airport can be reached by car in less than one hour.

Cost savings due to free movement of labor

  • The German borders to Poland and Czech Republic are as open as they are with Austria, France, or the Benelux states.
  • Enterprises benefit primarily from the cost structures, which have become even less expensive and from the free movement of labor. This will permit mixed calculations even beyond state borders - with the legal safety provided by German law.
