In the south of Görlitz, around Lake Berzdorf, an impressive greenbelt recreation area is currently under development. The site of a former lignite open-cast mine will soon be turned into a recreational and water sport paradise. This new recreational haven with a water area of 960 hectares will only be a few minutes by car from the historic city centre of the Euro City Görlitz/Zgorzelec.
